This is quite a unique concept in a genre that’s flooded with similar setups, love interests and resolution of problems. You see it quite often that the MC, who transmigrated into the villainess is often the bubbly sort who instantly makes people fall in love with her and they forgive past transgressions immediately, which robs the reader of enjoyment. Very often the MC will take over the body of the villainess in early childhood as well, which is also rather boring sometimes as the future conflict between the villainess and the “heroes” is just non existent. Here the MC is dropped into an environment where she has to do major damage control due to the villainess’s former transgressions. And it’s not resolved in the blink of an eye either. Everybody hates her and she could die quite easily. Also, the villainess is not just evil because she was spoiled. This is actually an orphan child who was used as a replacement and then treated like an interloper by everyone. Not being able to deal with this she became even more socially maladjusted and would lash out in boasts of anger and violence, which in turn was used to justify everybody’s hateful treatment of her. And the MC had quite the same upbringing in terms of her being abused, but she handled it differently. Where the villainess would lash out, the MC retreated into herself and has quite a good grasp that she can’t change other people’s behavior only her reaction to it. Now after finally getting away from her own abusive surroundings she’s put right back into a similar but even worse situation. This is really interesting to me to see a person who’s actually able to empathize with the villainess and try to resolve problems her own way. All for survival. Also, in most transmigrated stories the love interest is obvious and will be introduced immediately. Spoiler.....................................If it was the same formula I’ve seen so many times before then the main love interest would be the older brother. He’s handsome and there is enough tension between him and the villainess to create a love story. But this time around SPOILER....... it’s actually the crown prince. And in a setup like this, that’s actually a new concept. I don’t mean that it never happens that a crown prince would be the love interest. But it’s new that this type of love interest will be introduced after the “obvious” love interest in form of the older brother. Normally the crown prince in this kind of scenario would be the interloper to the MC’s and love interests relationship. So this is a little unexpected and quite refreshing.
