Her family was better at it but they all died one by one leaving the headstrong daughter last. Also, regardless of political intrigue, holding the country's military power can be a strength and deterrent in and of itself.
She has said she wasn't good at it. It just sucks that we're seeing it play out and she's really not good at politicking.
Ummmm...I'm starting to question how the Lady General made it so far in life being so easily hoodwinked. At every turn, she falls into traps. Too headstrong, always so hasty with no foresight。I guess all that merit is just for the battlefield. It's good that's she not a flawless Mary Sue I guess, but whew.
