France and Japan are two totally different things, so of course french law wouldn't coincide with Japan's law. And getting a loan is completely legal, so it's no use going to the cops. It's like a mother calling the cops when a store owner makes her pay for something the child broke in the store. If the child can't pay for it, then the next in line has to. #-.-)
in my memory, i beleive you are responsible for your parents debt but for laon it's rather conmplicated! there is loan with legal etablishment but there is also the loansharkrs! you can reprot if the rate isn't legal, if i can say that... Whatever, you can only knows what you can do after reading the laon contract and the legal part of it!
In here they don't say and it's not really important for the story! they just wanted to put the lead in embarrasment situatiion and introduce the other guy ^^
The "my dad is dead and now I'm in dept !!!!" trope is so recurrent in manga but does it really happen ?
I checked, the french law say you're not responsible for your parent dept.
I know here the loanshark seems to be a yakuza but... can't he just go to the police ?
And also I think it's disturbing that he's forced for financial reasons to live with a man who just harass him like "go out with me" again and again...
well it's yaoi...
I still think it's somehow cute... and unhealthy... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
