Yup, the sudden cheesy shonen feel-good plot is totally made up, there was no errant nation, there’s no fugitives, trion can’t be siphoned off people there’s no evil white version of replica. When Jin sends them to “training camp” because it’s important to befriend those two, there’s no deeper meaning beyond that arc, etc.
