Welp she is a kid. I guess they are trying to show the innocence of a child. She helped her when she was smaller so she doesn't doubt her since it was most likely the only act of kindness she had experienced back then.
I don't get it...after all the harsh she have gone through how could she believe someone without being cautious?Isn't author just making us anxious by making her careless
