It's not weird for you to think that way. Throughout the start of it some of the events raised a few red flags for me. Though it's not surprising since the nature of how their relationship started.. also they're in it coz the situation was equally beneficial for the two of them. Luke may have viewed it as Bina agreeing to a business partnership of sort. He wasn't sure how he could appeal to Bina so showering her with affection seemed the only way since he knows he can't buy her with anything. As for the forest scene, it's prolly just pure desperation on his end.. same with Bina I guess, her explaination made a bit of sense for me. In an unknown world, she desperately needed an assurance. Something that she can help her firmly stand on with her own two feet. She's decided to turn her back on her previous life so it only makes sense to check if Luke would care enough to make sure that there will be no doubts about it later on.
Tldr; they're both calculative people who were perfect for each other. XDDDD
Okay, a lot of people are saying they love Luke and Bina's relationship, and I do... too? But am I only one who sees the emotionally manipulative and toxic signs in both of them, especially Luke? Like the part where he's spiraling down when Bina is testing him (at the bridge between worlds part) and thinks about cutting off her legs and killing her? Is that just the translation error??? (I know he comes to the conclusion that she has to choose him herself, nevertheless, the deterioration of that chapter scared me so much. It was around chapter 75 I think) At the beginning, the way he's seducing her is calculating, planning it out inch by inch, step by step. There are some vulnerabilities that solidify their relationship, but by the end of the crossroads part, he hugs her and says "I'll be your world." But aren't those the words of someone who wants to own the other??? Again, Bina is just as shrewd and wouldn't easily let herself fall in love with someone who has bad intentions with her, so I might be completely wrong on this topic. To clear up any misunderstandings, I wrote this right when I finished Bina's reluctance to go back to Korea. Please share your thoughts below, maybe I'll update when I finish this. However, I love the story progression and the characters VERY much. Maybe I misinterpreted the author's intention.
