I may need a graphic or someone breaking the fourth wall to explain this to me XD. Seriously, I don't understand the "family" relationship between Chang and Ed, I thought they weren't blood-related but know I wonder. What stepbrother is Ed talking about? What about the grandma? If Ed's stepbrother, who is dead, is Chang's brother then, wouldn't be Chang and Ed stepbrothers as well? I'm so lost, sorry ;____; I need to know.

No. It was chang's stepbrother that died. Then ed came along and pretended to be chang's stepbrother in front of his grandma. Chang and ed are not blood related whatsoever

Ed is not related to Chang at all.

Chang has a younger stepbrother called XiaoLing who died in a car accident with his mom and stepfather.

Ed and his grandfather is Chang’s neighbour. Chang’s grandma took a liking to Ed as Ed reminds her of XiaoLing the deceased grandson and Ed likes the comfort so is often hanging around them. So while growing up, because they are often seen together, people thought they were siblings but they were not. Chang despises it when people assumes that they are siblings because Chang is in love with Ed.

Then the narration is a bit confusing, Ed and Chang are narrating this chapter (I thought it was only Ed) because there's a scene where Ed is in a bed hospital and then the grandmother is crying on a hospital bed. That must be Chang narrating about his brother's accident.

God, I don't know who to pity the most.

    Thanks for replying <3

Hi Lucy, yes the last chapter (the one in brown black hues), that was narrated by Chang. Glad it clears up the confusion. I would love it if someone translated the novel. That would be more in-depth.
