I might be over analyzing this but

I think that Harry regards Felix as some sort of an experiment. He is always watching him and his every reaction. If you think about it, Harry acts differently towards everyone else except him. He is hostile to everyone else but with Felix it’s like he has a mask on. It seems as though he’s putting on an act and always acts cautiously around him, like there’s this impenetrable wall that his friend can’t seem to break through. Felix even once said that he still doesn’t understand Harry even when it’s been 8 years since they’ve known each other. I feel like Harry is pretending to be a good friend but in reality wants to see his friend at his lowest. I think that’s why he’s been helping him so much. He builds him up to break him down. He also said before “it’s almost time...” there’s this desperation where he wants to see his friend succeed but is that all there really is to it? Idk, I just don’t think that he has good intentions, he’s a mysterious and suspicious character. You never know what he’s gonna do next, especially when he punched that coworker for doing....absolutely nothing... or so I think but I may be absolutely wrong haha!

I whole hardly agree with you. Harry is too intelligent therefore can’t find mediocrity pleasant. He quits his job because he’s the smartest one there and gets bored, And sees that his experiment is getting progress. I would like to also add that this leg being damaged has either been his fault, he probs caused the accident, or has made Felix feel guilty to the point of becoming depressed. This reminds me of another story, I believe it’s called color, and it’s about a psychopath that takes interest on a hairdresser. Both Harry and the Girl (forgot her name) manipulate people to their advantage. I would say they are different in the fact that the girl has a goal, and blends in with society, while Harry becomes the outcast. Definitely why both can’t get along is because they’re too similar with each other and can’t stand that the other knows what they’re doing.
