because typically traumatic past makes more sense for an awful person. Can you imagine if one of the bad guys just decided to be bad? Like "Nah my parents are alive, love me and each other, no one ever bullied me. My life is perfect tbh, I just said fuck it and decided to be the bad one". Like SHIT that's scary
because i feel like it's playing with my emotions. you know there's a character that you supposedly hate but then he has an unhappy past so you kinda start pitying him even tho he has done terrible things. but sometimes it's okay however you can't still justify someone's wrongdoings because they have a rough past although you can understand why they did it.
why does asshole characters always have this kind of miserable past....
