This makes so much sense for the high school arc. Kinda reminds me of Miss Not-So Sidekick of a girl who went into an unfinished novel and the original author made it so that the MLs cannot see anyone else besides the FL and even to the extinct of giving them "corrupt" personalities and side stories just to fit in with the FL and her interventions.

Remember how the hamster said that the author abandoned the story after writing it for a few hundred chapters & how that might lead to errors in the personalities of the characters? And how in the High School arc, the MC said that the authors who write the terrible stories are to blame? Well........

The author abandoning the novel lead to its ML gaining awareness. And it drove him absolutely fucking insane because a) he's forced to act stupid b) the people around him act stupid c) zero consequences to anything because PLOT d) he's stuck looping in this hellhole because there isn't a fucking ending.
So basically he treats everyone around him like the NPCs that they are because LIFE HAS NO MEANING. But then MC showed up & he becomes obsessed with her since she's the only real person in this world who has a functioning IQ. Because of that - the only real way to punish him is for MC to kill herself, since life without her is hell for him.
He swears to cultivate out of his novel world & to ascend to where MC is. (Idk if he succeeded).
