That just hits way too close to incest vibes for me. They would have been great as just close siblings—because adopted family is still family. I also dislike literature that minimizes the bonds of adopted children—it’s super toxic to push the idea that sibling not being related by blood means they aren’t real family. BUT please still read because the story is actually great.
