According to a spoiler I saw on novelupdates in their previous life when Claude learned Ivona was dead he ate a demon heart or something and it seems like in this life he was able to access its power.

I’m so confused about the last chapter. I can understand most of it, but what was that chained up black thing? I still love everything about the story though...
