Unfortunately, some serious fetish to rape exists out there (or at the very least- forced sex with illusion to rape).
That's why nearly every eastern asia comic has a crying uke during sex and has 'no'/'stop'/'enough' words uttered - purely to satisfy illusion of that forced sex, give the illusion of near-rape.
I do not understand this, too.
I accept that such scenes can be popular among certain audience and publishing companies want to collect their sure money from the audience that will be surely buying stories with such scenes, but make >90% stories like that?... That seriously boggles me.
Are publishing companies operating on old data/presumptions or is there really an actual increase in purchases with rape scenes or artificial illusions of forced sex/rape?
So true, sexual assault is used a lot to make one person in the relationship suffer like any other kind of abuse that the other partner finds out in a shocking way to create suspense for readers. Their reaction is usually knight in shining armor cuz readers do b wanting protective moments when the uke defends the seme or the other way around. It’s like a don’t touch my mans kinda thing. Also Chang was the rapist for a reason, like this isn’t a random rape and I think it’s more realistic cuz most rape comes from people the victim already knew. For it to be someone Ed once saw as a brother is so sad and readers like to see their favorite characters overcome hardship and I luv Ed so I’m hoping the same
Every updated manga, I've read this week, is littered with rape. What's going on? Am I, in the twilight zone...or maybe, I've been transported to "Backwardsville", where no, means yes and yes, still means yes!
