It was kinda depressing...since Chinagi was near death, thus, his sense of sight touch and hearing are slowly shutting down...he won't be able to see, feel, or hear Kokuryuu.
And Kokuryuu...being a dragon who calls forth storm whenever he opens his mouth, can't even assure him that he was there, multiplies the sadness into infinity <( ╥﹏╥)>
Sure he was rude ass, going around stripping girls Σ(っ°Д °;)っ(he was lucky he wasn't charged with sexual assault or something) or that he didn't even recognize his beloved at first sight (Let's just blame the Megane powers... even Clark Kent was able to hide his identity through glasses)
