Disappointed in Chang

I understand that Ed provoked Chang, but that did not give Chang the right to go ahead and rape him just because he couldn’t keep his dick in his fucking pants. He is seriously a sick and twisted bastard who clearly couldn’t comprehend that Ed didn’t intend to have sex with him, the one person who took him in at one point in his life only to turn him away. Trampling all over Ed’s feelings just to fulfill his own desires was honestly so selfish and disgusting to see. I hope Ed doesn’t become addicted to his toxic and controlling love. He’s already suffering so much.

I mean... Chang has been controlling Ed for a long ass time like it didn't just start here. it wasn't some sort of shocking betrayal, we all knew Chang is a fuck, he just took it to a new level. Also I think Chang absolutely knew Ed didn't actually intend to have sex with him and it was all talk to provoke him into anger. Chang just doesn't care.

Yeah that’s all true. I just thought that Chang was beginning to change into a... decent... person? But now it’s all back to square one which made me hate him all over again.

yeah I get that, after all he hasn't done anything particularly shitty in a while. and while what he did was wrong in so many ways and really hurt Ed, I think it also made Chang more human in my eyes, cuz this is the first time we really see some different types of emotions and desire from him. it humanized him in a way, so I'm interested to see where this goes, but I pray to god they don't end up together cuz I'm sick of the "rape to love" plot of some stories. victims don't just magically fall in love with an forgive their attackers

I agree. I guess it’s his own way of expressing his feelings for Ed, it’s just that he doesn’t know how to communicate them. Or that he refuses to acknowledge those feelings or can’t admit them because of his pride. And omg I hope that doesn’t end up happening either. That would just be an awfully anticlimactic way to end it, but on the other hand, Chang isn’t the type to apologize and surely Ed won’t forgive and forget all his horrible deeds so there really should be no room for redemption... hopefully.

ahhh, i see. not sure i agree. he broke someones arm, beat them up, and then rape them... that doesnt make him human, it makes him a criminal. people like that dont just rape someone once unfortunately, they get off on having power over someone that is weaker.

I see where you are coming from but in my perception Change didn't just want to rape Ed, he was almost desperate, and frustrated at how it all went down which is different from the usual indifferent/dismissive Chang we have see till now. personally don't think his motivation was just to exert power over Ed. I could totally be wrong and maybe I just misread something, but I feel like this is going to turn into something more. like, this won't be just a case of rape where the assailant just walks away totally fine or even proud of what he did. I think it might end up having some sort of emotional toll on Chang as well which will certainly be interesting for the story.
also wanna make it real clear that I don't condone rape or think of rapist as just misunderstood or some shit. what Chang did was 100000% wrong but provides an opportunity for character growth as this is a fictional story.

dont get me wrong, i am interested to see as well how his characters handles what happened.

since i am home on quarantine, i have been reading up/watching youtube videos on famous killers. So it gets to me when i see a rape scene in a manga. Because i realize that in real life it has such horrible consequences on the victims. So many victims are affected forever, while their rapists are free.

Thank you for responding though. I can see your point of view. I am curious as well how the author will handle this now.
