Is everyone forgetting that this is basically how all the MLs act??? The only difference is that some of the FLs liked them before or are starting to develop feelings based on their advances. Most of the MLs from other dramas just dont have the power like li lie does, but some of you are still
⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ regardless but get all
(╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸 when li lie does it!? Seriously, that's only because some know the original story and the author is not doing a very good job either. That's why so many times I wanted to drop this cause it frustrates me to no end! I had Hope's it would get better, but damn... I'm dropping it
Bye. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
I’m not changing my statement. This reads like the incels fan fictions talking about how all teenage girls dream about being raped by men as long as they’re handsome. There are an insane amount of minors being groomed because of this type of story that normalises abuses and pedophilia. It’s a huge problem.
I, for one, do not like romantic stories where rape is portrayed as okay. It’s not any deeper than this. It’s just gross and disgusting. You won’t want to read a romance story about a 20 year old dating a 6 year old would you? Even if it doesn’t have an impact on real life (which it does), and it’s “not real” since it’s just a story.
I suggest you watch the pop culture detective on YouTube. It really gives you a broader aspect as to how abusive and toxic relationships are normalised and enforced in movies, series and books. Those shows have real impacts and aren’t harmless. They shape behaviours.
Nobody’s talking about real cases... of course there’s plenty of pedos grooming their victims and committing statutory rape repeatedly. But if us, the non criminals, start acting like it’s actually okay and normal, and not a disgusting crime that should be punished?
I guess what I’m saying is, all pedos* and rapists should burn at the stake, and have the slowest and most painful death they could ever get, whether in fiction or real life (≧∀≦) the scum of the earth, the trash of this universe, whoop whoop in the fire they go
* the ones who act upon it only, those who seek treatment for their mental illness are good~
This is my last answer afterwards I’ll mute this topic.
“Most everybody is aware that this is morally despicable”. No. They don’t. That’s my whole point.
Do you seriously think I don’t know you can talk about anything in a story? But there is a serious difference between talking about it, and condoning it.
What matters if the AUTHOR’s message. Does the author believe there can be romance between a 6 year old and a 20 year old? Or is he just relaying the thoughts of the 20 year old pedophile, rapist, predator ruining the life of the 6 year old, causing her serious mental issues when she grows older and taking a way a chance at a healthy glance at relationships in the future?
“In a philosophy wise environment” “human rights”. Do you know that in the grand majority of western countries, 1 to 3 women gets murdered every single day by their partner? Do you know that 1/5 children lives in a house with domestic abuse, which in most cases is committed by male perpetrators? Or that 70% of women will experience a form of sexual harassment (from catcalling to rape) by the age of 25? Do you know how often I hear, in my daily life, despite living in a “safe country” and a “safe area”, that “she deserved it?”
Do you know how often child grooming is? Do you know how often 14 year old girls date adults, even under the eye of their parents, and don’t see anything wrong with it until they’re adults themselves and realised their childhood has been toyed with by a predator? Do you know why we hold all those stupid beliefs? Because in our society we do not make a big enough stance that those things ARE NOT NORMAL. We read books and stories and series everyday about how stalking is cute (stranger things), jealousy and possessiveness is a sign of caring, and how rape can be ok depending on context. Many women were raped and don’t even know it: for example a lot think that if they say “ok” to sex, and then during the act they don’t want to do it anymore, they’re not allowed to say “no” or “stop”. Some women get blackmailed into sex by their partner, and don’t see how that’s wrong. It isn’t about one or two stories that may affect one or two persons, it’s how society as a whole depicts abusive relationships as love. And whether you want it or not, most of us learn about love in fictions before experimenting in real life. There are thousands of studies about how these have an effect on us in our daily life, so saying that having the common of movies portray something as having no impact whatsoever on us is not just stupid and ignorant, but downright false.
This is why there are WHO guidelines as to how to portray certain horrible things, like suicide, because they know (the world health organisation) that movies have an impact on people. 13 reasons why disrespected 5 of them, romanticising it despite trying to make a series on how to prevent it, and ended up in a raise of 30% of the suicides in youth (7-18) in the U.S.
There is a wide difference between writing about disgusting things and condoning them. You can write about horrible stuff prettily, without meaning that the author supports them. But here, the author is selling a romance story to teenage girls about a 30 year old guy manipulating and raping a minor and my problem is that since it’s super popular in China as a ROMANCE not as psychological thriller, it means THEY DO NOT SEE A PROBLEM WITH IT. If you want an example of a similar abusive relationship portrayed as love in the west, there is twilight.
And I’m sorry if I sound harsh, but this is the hill I will die on if I need to. There is only negative things coming out from romanticising rape, pedophilia and abusive behaviours. It isn’t innate to understand when a partner is toxic, and unless you learn about the signs preemptively (which movies and series ignore THUS the problem), you can easily be trapped. It causes many women to be robbed from their lives, losing years or even decades to abusive behaviours, sometimes even leaving their life. It happens to men too I also want to add. There is a disturbing mindset that men can’t be raped or abused by women, also normalised by series and movies. Yes it’s a vicious cycle like you said, we think it so we represent it, we represent it so we think it. But if we stop representing it, then we break the cycle, that’s my whole point.
Once again I’ve muted this, you can answer or pretend you’ve never seen this, I don’t really care. Have a good day but most importantly, educate yourself.
Let me remind you the male lead believes the female lead is a 15 YEAR OLD GIRL. He is her 30 year old boss, he has all the power in this relationship yet he dates her, abuses her and eventually rapes her twice and then goes around acting kind like a real abuser. Disgusting!!! No matter how hard I try or twist it. This is like a rapist’s fantasies. It can never be okay.
