Is it possible to break a pair?

I hope this is not like the pairing on novels I have read wherein if one of the mate dies the other will follow.
In some Omegaverse Story there is a posibility zu break a pair, not through death. (for example Kiraide Isasete chapter 2. An Alpha want to bit the omega to try have sex with a pair and said, he break it right after). But only the alpha can break it

But they just bite and bite and drop em omegas, so maybe disappering act might help.
