Right! This is why I always get second lead syndrome, it breaks my heart to see people who loved someone for so long watch their crush fall in love with someone else
Not every child hood friend I've read quite a few mangas and books that envolve them getting together. Unfortunately the reason why they end up getting forgotten or becomes the villian is because of their jealousy and inability to act on their feelings before she moves on. Or they expect that just because she knew them longer that it automatically means that they'll end up together. Either way it typically is a problem on their end. From what I can see so far he's going to be the villian type and will probably almost (if not will) get the bad luck boy killed due to his jealousy.
