the ending

i got a bit confused at the ending... we were shown Clark holding something I assume to be the psychiatrist's finger? How and where did he get it? Did he search Alex (or his room of collections) for it after he killed Alex? Does that tell us he really, at least a little bit, loved or treasured the psychiatrist even at the end?

Hope to hear some of y'all's theories and explanations as well! ^.^

I think that of all people there, the psychiatrist was the only one he ever loved tbh.

I truly think so too. That's why he kept the ring as a memento so preciously. But it feels odd since Clark's affections were not really explored throughout the whole story (or i might have missed it) Kind of hard to imagine a detached character like Clark fall in love. But ofc, i want the best for him too!

A few things that also showed that Clark liked Oliver:
    - He's the only person he does keep contact with, even though they broke up (5 times even)
    - He seems to be the only one he got as far as exchanging rings
    - He was the first and only one he told about his moving
    - He never used/manipulated him (as far as I know)
    - He pretended to not have received a room refreshner, even though he isn't someone who lies to make someone feel better without second thoughts
    - He showed (a hint of) emotions, when he heard of Oliver's death
    - He tried to get Oliver out of Alex's sight, to prevent any casualties (even if it was for naught)

I have pointed some of the things out that contradict Clerk's personality. I mean, we do not know anything about him in detail, such as what exactly is wrong with him. But, maybe through his actions and glimpses of emotion-like things that he did or said, we might be ableto get an idea of what his intentions were.
I will try to think about it the next few days. Maybe I can come up with something like a theory :)

Yes and he keeps and take good care of the fish.
He was truly in love with Oliver and this last panel when he holds the finger... ╥﹏╥
He says to the inspector it was for revenge (with this expression on his face). Good job author !
But I feel sad for Alex too. Because all he wanted was to be loved and never again be abandoned...
