What could be the role of the old servant here then, could he jump to try and protect NK
Yes, I had been the same lately... the loyal servant could be the one who helps BNK and gets injured or even killed while protecting him. Imagine what it would mean for Seungho! His loyal servant whom he has known for a long time has been hurt while protecting his lover... both people close to him in danger and one even possibly dead. I bet, Seungho's anger would be terrible... and for BNK, it would be another reason for getting closer to Seungho as he knows that this servant has never spoken badly about his master and he would see that seungho is affected by such an incident. It would show to the painter that Seungho is not just a selfish and cold-hearted person.
Noo.... But servant Kim is precious too. I hope nothing bad ever happens to him :( If anyone's gonna get hurt, let it be Seungho lol big boi can handle himself haha
Actually, it really shows that BNK has become so important to Seungho as the loyal servant is always by BNK's side. He was the one who stood close to him, while BNK was waiting at the gate in the finale chapter. It was as if the servant was in reality serving BNK and not Seungho. Then, we realize that he kept serving more and more BNK all this time: He was the one who accompanied BNK to the tailor, who asked the doctor for the replenishing medicine... Notice that Seungho was alone with In Hun and even later. So the loyal servant has a new task and obligation: taking care of BNK. And in my opinion, this is important as he is the only one who knows Seungho's true past. The loyal servant has now become BNK's servant as the latter has become Seungho's lover. BNK gives him even an order: getting rid of the painting.
And in the finale chapter of this season, BNK's gaze is really interesting. He is looking straight at Seungho, not avoiding his gaze... he shows no embarrassment, he is not crying either, not dazed nor drunk nor angry... He looks serene. He is no longer thinking of his unrequited love for In Hun and his learned sir. He is now embracing his new situation. He won't run away, he chooses to remain by Seungho's side and this is his true choice.
