In both cases they see people as sexual objects and when they are confronted with more (the real world when a couple wants to hold hands and date and marry and all the other sides a romantic love has) they reject it.

You see a fetish is not necessarily a bad thing! Take for example a foot fetish.
Now, feet are perfectly normal, non sexual parts of the body and, depending on the situation and the person they can also be used for sexual estimulation.

(I mean psychologically speaking in a diagnosis a fetish happens when you can only feel sexual pleasure from your fetish -example, if you like bdsm and you can ONLY get off from bdsm, then YES, BDSM is your fetish, but people seem to use fetish informally for a particular liking so I'll use it that way)
