the real summary of 19 days is that jian yi comes back to xi after being gone for 3 years. In the beginning he comes back and xi asks him where he was. Then the story goes back to when they are in middle school to hopefully explains what happened to jian yi
that's because the he tian x mo guanshan subplot sort of took over the main story and slowed the plot progression quite a lot...
I think He Tian and his weird family has something to do with why jian yi went missing though and that's why we're getting their story
i wasn't talking about that subplot, i'm talking about their romantic subplot, which started off as just a side romanc, and in terms of storytelling it isn't really necessary for the plot to progress, but then it sort of started taking over the main romance/plot, seeing as He tian's romance with Guanshan has as much screen time as the main plot now
