If my assumption is right, he’ll probably get his mark when he faces his trauma and accepts her or maybe they’ll figure it out when the neck las is closed by. Since the necklace is meant to help her find her other half.
Granted I could be wrong and the author might just surprise us with something even more exciting. But that won’t happen until season 2. From what I can see.
