Well if you'll look at the older yaoi mangas, that kind of stereotype can be observed (quite strongly I must say) so I'm guessing that these "young girls" started exploring the yaoi world with these mangas. And also, I'm assuming that they are originaly used to reading or watching hetero themed mangas or anime where the ML is usually taller than the heroine. I am also quite disappointed because there are sone good stories with the uke being taller than the seme. But hey, everyone has their own preferences hehe.

Omg aciddently pressed send, I was gonna say the yaois* I first started reading a long time ago had that stereotype so I just started liking it, as I started reading more it isn't my main taste anymore but is still my preference I will admit, I think it just happens cause of exposure to it?
you realize yaoi fans are mostly young girls when they keep themselves inside that "tops are tall, manly and bottoms are small and cute" bubble. when did that stereotype start??
