Actually...i dont really like shiki... Not that i hate him tho..and of course i lobe naoya...

He didn't really stop loving him or anuhting

He just found a place in his heart for someone else and that was noya,,,
And the the void left by shiki, that spot was taken by the kid,,, (it's like you have 1 position for a lover in your heart, and only one person can ocuupy it)
And then his love for the kid grew as he cherished him more than he did to shiki
Like the kid filled the void (riding him of lonlyness) ,, and continued to take over all of his heart (filling the void is warming up to noya0, and taking over his heart is basically wanting to be the kid's lover)


which he then moved on from shiki,,, but he didn't forget,, cz the memories remain, and so did the trauma of losing an important person
You know he moved on when the happy memories experience wibt the deceased person don't cause him pain anymore, but remain happy in his memorise

Yes I didn't like shiki much as well, but then I reread the story multiple times,,, and if you notice the voice saying 'please let everyone be happy'... After the last chapter I think that is probably shiki,,, which made his existence tolerable...
I think he has flashbacks of shili with the mindset that 'he is being loveddd by noya,cz the only other person who was sincere to him like this was probably shiki,, its like the memories associated with love used to be linked to shiki,, but now it's linked to noya his love,,,,,,, which implies that he thinks should protect and cherish him so that he will never lose him again

Somethimg like when husband moves in with wife, homecooking is associated with his mother,, but then as his wife cooks for him,, homecooking is associated with his wife,,,

Oe like jwne you haven't had a home cooked meal in a looooong time and when you finally do by a friend or something you think of your mother meals,, and your really grateful for the meal or something

Aoe haven't had rela love in a long time after he lost shiji but the noya came and became his world

Aoe is probably grateful for having experienced love, and the luxury of being able to experience it again after shiji died


I don't know how to explain th is but yeah

If you read 'somewhere in time' the story of the blond sick kid and his lover helped me a lot in understanding how these things work,, it was kinda confusing,, I read it twice for it to click and I cried so hard
cz life just keep going and if you keep yourself stuck in the past,,, you basically rmeian there without moving forward
