The sad reality of the porn industry

I don't know how to feel about all of this.

Yes Ed has some responsibility because he consented to the porn videos due to needing the money

BUT

The issue lies within the fact that people who enter the porn industry are almost always in a desperate situation. In the case of Ed, he's in massive debt and won't realistically pay it off without doing something insanely sketchy. So yes he did consent but if you think about it, did he really have any other option? He could go and work three jobs (he is literally already working two) but nothing will pay his debts within a realistic time frame. Thus he's in a situation where he feels like he's forced to do things he doesn't want to but needs to in order to escape his situation.

If you look at Mcqueen he is running a business where he is dealing with a lot of broken people and sort of knowing that you are exploiting their desperation for financial gain is fucked up. Mcqueen has to know this himself. I really don't think there is a way to ethically run a porn company which is where my discontent lies.

I don't actually know how I feel about Mcqueen to be honest with you. I think Ryan feeling like he got raped is justified because at the end of the day it's an emotional experience. He is fighting with his feelings of hating the sex but needing the money. In my opinion, although he accepted the deal, he still did get raped.

Similarly to someone holding something you NEED but the only condition for you to receive it is sex. Is it technically consented? It feels more like manipulation to me.

I mourn for those in the sex industry because it's a really emotional experience.
I'd really like to hear some counter arguments because I want to like Mcqueen.

Which is why I feel like Ed being in a relationship with Mcqueen is a bad end. Without spoiling, I think the ending we get is the best we could get with them two still being together. I just feel like Mcqueen doesn't want to take any responsibility for what he technically does. Which is exploit desperate men for financial gain. I don't want to view it like that but unfortunately it's true. Which is why I can't see myself liking Mcqueen until he admits his faults.

All of what said are very valid points, but we still have to get back to the point that they consented to these conditions. Pornography on it's own is a debatable topic, but even so, many actors enjoy what they do. Even in regular acting some feel exploited because in a sense that's what it is. A give and take situation, that magnifies both parties desperateness or true motives. Even in modeling depending on what clothes they wear or how much skin they show will change based on the critics. In the end it is a business that everyone gets criticized for. The porn actors for "whoring" themselves off, or models making "unrealistic" standards, or when movie actors are hated for the characters they play. They have no control over what those around them do and no matter what business it is at the end of the day an employee is an employee and you can't completely put the blame on the business owner. I hope i made sense sorry if it comes off wrong.

All what you said is true, gleen used ed’s need for money to make him do a bottom porn, ed was gonna quite after the masturbation video, but gleen offered him more than the average price just to get him to do it and that manipulative af
