Hello, the translator for the group here, and I totally agree with you. Even though korean is my second language, it’s really not that great with historical, old korean, it’s sort of like trying to understand Shakespearean but not as intense. Even as I was reading the raws, it wasn’t too evident that there were time skips within the story, only until I read a synopsis and heard from others did I really understand what was going on. The official translation definitely changes lines to fit better in English and the fluidity of it, that us, as fantranslators, do not have the liberty to take as we don’t know what’s important or not to the story. So we do thank you for reading our translation, and we do hope you’ll continue to support the artist.
not the translator here but thought i'd share the link to the official translation sksk; https://www.lezhin.com/en/comic/imae_en
I just read the first chapter of the official translation and to everybody who was as confused as I was after reading the chapters here I'd recommend you to read the official translation. At least to me, things weren't confusing at all anymore.
I'm not trying to insult the fantranslators, translating this kind of old-fashioned mythical talk is extremely hard. But since the first two chapters probably won't be replaced with the official translation on mangago I just wanted to let everybody who is confused know that they reading the official translation might clear some things up.
