I think so... that's probably how he sees and remembers scenes he has to paint. But this time it was of his own free will.

as a person who studies art, when i saw the last panel i immediately tought that it is inspired by johannes vermeer. pearl earringed girl is the most famous one but if you look at his other work anyone can see the resemblence like the window and stuff. thats good shit.
