The late emperor is the brother of the current emperor. He died in the war after the current emperors assures victory with the late emperors army. Basically the late emperor had an army and the position of ruler but left the warfare to the current emperor because he lacked understanding of military combat and unfortunately perished in the battle, which led to the current emperor taking the throne as the next in line. The blonde haired man is the cousin of the current and late emperor. His family most likely ruled a small country that had ties with the Han empire (If I remember they ruled a small nation known by Cho but I might be wrong) or were the rulers of the Jin empire. He lost his family but I do not know how that is tied to the current emperor but he has a hatred that stems from their death as well as the words the current emperor said to him while they were on the battlefield. The purple haired girl and the shady bronze boy are essentially ‘survivors’ of the Jin kingdom. The purple haired girl seems to have only lingering feelings of regret and resentment seeing as it was her own people that killed her family and threw her of the cliff. She was rescued by the opposition and thus left her life to them, which would explain her lack of resentment to the current emperor. The other Jin survivor is there to execute revenge probably because he lost someone dear to him. He is planning to use the mc but we are unaware at the moment. He clearly sees his past love in her somewhat but his intentions of using her still unclear. I hope this helps, I didn’t use Mamés because that might’ve confused you more.

The blonde male is the emperors cousin. His family ruled over Cho (a nation allied with Han) until they died. Now he’s the ruler of Cho but he is trying to seek revenge on the current emperor (for reasons that aren’t clear to us) In the flashback he was the one who saved the purple haired girl.

I think I need to re-summarise some of the information of the webtoon. The nation that the current emperor is ruling over is called Cho not Han, Han is the nation the blonde man rules over. His family was the royal family of Han but they died in the war waged against Jin. From my deduction Han and Cho teamed up to take over Jin and the blonde boy probably wants revenge on the current emperor because he was not able to save his family even after telling the blonde man that he isn’t fit to join in the battle. At this point not all the information is clear but this is what sense I could make out of it.
