The thing is even if Aria didn't do anything to Mielle this time, Mielle will still come attack her in the future. Because Mielle hate Aria and her mom from the first time she met them.

Aria herself said that if in the past Mielle just ignored her, Aria will satisfied with her new dress and life. With her past conducts, even if Mielle let her be, Aria would destroy her reputation herself and wouldn't become part of higher society.

But no, Mielle want Aria and her mom to die. So, what Aria do this time is just cut the bud before it grows.

I admit she overdid some revenge. But it's revenge.

If someone bully me, I'll give back twofold. And Aria is not a kind person, retaliate ten times or more of what Mielle did is still make sense to me.

And after finish reading the novel, I'm so glad Aria just keep Jessie on her side as her maid, and responsible for her future. Jessie is like Sarah, they are too pure and must be protected.

Some people comments on novel that they didn't like that Annie (second maid after Jessie) has happy ending, because she's greedy and you know, not goody goody like Jessie or Sarah.

I'm glad Aria used Annie to do 'other jobs' outside maid work, because I won't like Aria as much, if she used Jessie to do her dirty work. As long as Annie is useful and not betray her, Aria won't throw Annie away, like she did to John (the knight on ch 9). And Annie know that very well.
