I just wanna share my 2 cents on this because i cant get it off my mind. First of all, this will have to be the standard for shoujo. The plot, the characters, the realism, the romance just ughhh i love everything about this manga.
Now lets move on to suzume! but before that i love her so much, she is not necessarily way too different from the usual shoujo heroine (the way she still act like a typical shoujo heroine in love is cute) but shes also different so i do like her character because i feel like suzume is what most high school girl would be like if they fall in love.
As for sensei,,,dare i tell u HES MY FAVOURITE he might even be one of my top 2d boys. The way his character were constructed I AM IN LOVE. An adult that kinda acts childish?? SIGN ME TF UP. Moreover, hes actually an emotional wreck that is trying his best for both his love life and friendship and also while being an emotional wreck he still managed to be super cool?calm?collected? Idk how to describe but the sensei handled his feelings was actually quite well,,,it somehow touched my heart (even though it did not erase the fact that he could handle it better like not saying that he was not in love with chunchun but ig he was an emotional wreck)
Mamura is also a wonderful character. Ok hes a dork, an adorable dork. Like if i meet a guy like him in real life, bet my ass i would tease him forever and eventually, unconsciously fell in love with him because duhh its mamura. I love his personality, the caring in silent type but not really because he kind of made it obvious that he cared for suzume,,,,,but our heroine here was just a tad bit late in noticing that,,,
Now for the ending, i,,,,,,was rooting for sensei. I just feel like sensei was too pitiful and well he did ruin his chance BUT to blame him fully is not fair because it was also partly the uncles fault,,,,ig that hes worried but he should dig deeper before giving sensei the fucking nope dont u dare lay a hand on my niece,,because i felt like he was way too rushed in doing that and for godamn sake shishio is his friend?? He should at least trust shishio a bit,,,,,,the way he trusted shishio enough to force him to come to his place and tutor suzume ALONE,,,,but immediately giving him the death threat (not really but kinda) when he found out suzume liked shishio,,,,,,maybe im being bitter but if the uncle didnt meddle much,,,,,maybe i wouldnt be too upset :/
Also, i read somewhere that there was no communication between sensei and suzume. Well i kinda have to half disagree with that. In the end they talked it out, sensei did convey his true feeling and even before thattttt, sensei was kinda showing that he loved suzume,,,,but yet again our heroine was either overthinking or too late too notice,,,,, or someones meddling,,,,jdjsjjs lmao im still bitter
But well, now the manga has ended both sensei and suzume have found their love so i'll just wallow in my own frustration alone :)
