Lol im asian in my late 20's and i dont really apply make up unless im required to..i honestly think it depends in how a person is brought up ,culture or the environment they are in...i know some girls that cant go out without make up cause they feel "naked"...also found it weird how some people dress up even if they just stay home all day..i dont dress up unless i need to go out work or go to an event...sometimes its just to boost a persons confidence...some are into taking care of themselves and looking their best as a lifestyle..usually vlogs can be scripted but there are people that do it..its not bad tho its just how some people are
Like how i dont wear make up n dress up much..some people will say its cause im lazy and dont take care of myself..but i honestly dont mind it and i dont like the hassle
It's not really a western thing. Some people do it to cheer themselves up, some do it out of habit, and others do it because they feel that people will judge them badly. My personal experience as a woman and as a young girl growing up in America, people do judge you if you do not wear makeup. Now, granted nobody honestly cares, but you get them unconsciously treating you differently or negatively based on the fact you have nothing. As for me personally, I don't wear makeup unless it's for a special occasion, only because I personally do not like the feel of it on my face, nor like the hassle of putting it on and off. YouTubers usually put makeup on to make themselves look presentable on camera because people judge on impressions then really who they are. It's one of those things as a woman growing up being told to always look nice, be presentable, and wear makeup. I personally don't hate makeup, I think it looks good on other people, and as I said, I just personally don't wear it, so I usually get treated negatively by people unconsciously, because they mostly don't really take a step back and realize they are doing it. It's a media social brainwash as one could say. To be honest with you, makeup isn't really a necessity, but in some places, people will refuse to associate themselves with you because you don't wear it as a woman. For men, they are not expected to wear makeup, and where I am from, men are looked down on being feminine although it has changed in the last decade, majority will look harshly if you wear makeup as a man.
I'm not talking about them filming while wearing makeup, I can understand it.. rather you know they're lifestyle vlogs or videos like "my morning routine", "spend a productive day with me", "a typical day in my life", where you can already watch them barefaced, waking up, brushing teeth, then applying makeup, styling hair, making breakfast, cleaning house etc... That's why I'm curious, it's not like we didn't already watched them bareface without any trace of makeup..and if it's their morning routine they do it always, going outside or not, doing vlog or not..
This is what I wanna know,, if it's a random thingy or being a lady there means you've got to do that..
European here and no, if you don't want to, you don't need to. It's a highly individual thing. For some, going outside or just starting their day without make up may feel impossible, for others it's the other way round and they can't be bothered to prepare like that.
Vlogger like to create a certain image about their lifestyle, that aims for perfectionism a lot. But that's still just an image they create about their life. Not necessarily their every day reality.
Yea it’s probably just a western thing but at the same time.. The people you’re watching are beauty vloggers. Beauty is the base of their whole fan base. They want to show you how they have a beauty routine and a pretty living space. It’s like the kardashians doing photoshop. The kardashians make a lot of money off of their looks. They want to present the best picture of themselves to the world.
really depends on the person. when I wake up and don't plan to go out I don't do my hair and makeup (haven't done it in four weeks because of quarantine). when I plan to go out I do it like 1-2 hours before I leave my house (also depends on where I'm going). but my sister for example has always her brows done or my mother does her hair every single day. really depends on the person ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ but I don't think everything the bloggers show is 100% accurate
Can you please help me with hearing my rant.. it's nothing interesting going on here, so you can always save a minute of your life by avoiding it if you feel like..
Umm it's a random thought, I've been following a few YouTube vloggers on different contents but I noticed all of them after waking up from bed, before starting household work, applies makeup and do their hair and all, even if it's not like they're going outside..
I don't wanna be rude so I never ask but I'm really curious, if it's a western thing, like a custom or something.. or it's just they do it as an individual thing like cheering themselves on starting a new day..
I don't apply makeup at all since it's too much hassle for me to apply it and then clean up later.. and I don't see ppl around me doing so as well unless they're going out or going to attend any program or ceremonies..
Sorry if my rant is bothering you, you can definitely choose to ignore it..
