I don’t think it’s the author tarnishing it but the black haired girl! People like her actually do exist in real life! People who douse the S&M world with abuse and oppression. I’m glad the story is being told! We are being given a glimpse at the other side of S&M! A side we’re doms take advantage of their subs. Hopefully it advocates more awareness and need for a safer S&M community!

i believe that there are already plenty of stories like that but very few that are actually positive, healthy, equal relationships which is what me and many others have been wantnig for a long time.

so many stories that have BDSM, female dommes, or anything of the like start off with tons of potential only to go down the crapper with shitty writing or development.

maybe this author DID specifically want to go down the toxic relationship portrayal route and that's fine. it's their work and their story to tell how they want. if not, then it's just sad and a wasted chance to show the good and the beauty these relationships can have.

anyhow, that's just my take. i'm still going to keep reading because it's still holding my interest enough but i'm not holding it to any high expectations or hope.

I said these stories “tarnish” my kinks because the bad guys get happy endings without much growth. Most bdsm stories have the villainous doms so it’s pretty much imbedded in these kind of kinky stories.

IF the author was trying to spread awareness, they are doing a poor job. The smut is laced with nonconsensual sex which means they approve of the shitty behaviors in bdsm. Healthy bdsm sometimes shows up in the end after the climax, but the bad sex far out numbers the healthy sex so it’s hard to see the author criticizing bad behaviors when they fetishized it so much. Punish her for her actions if you truly mean it! Don’t reward her and brush off the rape just because she says sorry or whatever.

I’m dense, so I probably can’t grasp onto the moral of the stories with their tiny presence. I’m just so annoyed that having a healthy bdsm relationship is almost taboo. Almost every single bdsm story I’ve read had the unhealthy dom as the main antagonist.
