Hello, this is Korky, one of the admins of Dysania Scans and the person who has been typesetting DD from ch 1 (although later on I was joined by the lovely darlingToulou!). Firstly, I want to apologize if you feel like we were leading you on by saying we would continue releasing up to CH 32/33. That was the original plan. However, things started falling apart really fast. Dear Door is a stunning piece of art, but it is by far the most taxing title we have ever scanlated - I cannot even count the number of cleaners that have joined and left the project. When you factor in the difficulty cleaning it (5 hours upwards per chapter), the one to two hours for translating, then proofreading, then the 3-4 hours it takes to typeset it, another hour to two of quality checking + applying the edits.... You're easily looking at 10+ hours of work for one chapter. Over the past year and a half, this has taken a toll on me personally, and it has definitely affected the other members too. I felt pressured to release chapters faster, but there is just so much a person can do in such a short time - weekly releases soon became only a dream. On top of that, Pluto expressed their dissatisfaction with illegal releases on Twitter too, and I would lie if I said that that did not affect how we felt. We are fully aware that what we do is illegal. Our priority should be, and will be, to respect the authors and their wishes. Continuing to scanlate their works even after their explicit outrage at what we do is something we do not wish to do. And while I could go on and on as to how sorry I feel, all I want everyone to know was that we poured our hearts and souls into this title and that we are sad to let it go, but happy that it will soon receive an official English release.
