Yeah, they're step-siblings. Gong-Yi's (MC) mother was pregnant with her before she entered the palace. The emperor knew already but accepted her because her mother threated suicide when the emperor asked to abort the baby. So she was adopted as the emperor's own child.
The MC's mother was poisoned and died before being able to tell her the truth so she still thinks that they are biologically related because the emperor got rid of anyone who knew that the MC wasn't his biological daughter.
Are they related or not?
