I'm 100% Chinese, born in China, lived most of my life in China. I've been in the USA for a few years. My community is majority Asian, so I don't feel the racism. And I don't even go outside anyways. However, I can't deny that it was a fellow Chinese person who visited Wuhan that caused COVID19 to erupt in my area.

I'm from New Zealand. And even here there are a lot of attacks, whether verbal or physical, being directed at Asians in general. It's stupid blaming all Chinese people for Covid 19. The actions some people are taking are in no way justifiable. I don't exactly research everything about the virus but to my understanding the virus started in China because of some animal that was eaten(correct me if i'm wrong). I still however, think it is pointless blaming Chinese people.

I feel like being racist or doing hate crimes doesn’t justify anyone’s actions at all. Just because there is an outbreak with the virus doesn’t mean people get to act a certain way towards anyone. It just makes me feel like a lot of people in the U.S. are hypocrites. A lot of people want to proclaim equal rights, liberty, freedom, and justice for everyone despite the color of their skin or just ethnic backgrounds but then when there’s a pandemic they want to flip the switch and start pointing fingers and start hating on each other. Why can’t people just focus on one race, the human race. As someone who lives in America, it’s really disappointing to see people discriminating against one another. I personally think that all the Covid-19 did was unmask the fake lies Americans want to tell each other about coexistence with everyone. We’re so divided right now, and that’s not how we should be, we’re supposed to be united.
And I’m not saying all Americans are like that, just some, maybe even the vast majority. But yeah this is my opinion, I just had to share it.

Given the situation we are in and the nature of people, it's understandable why they are behaving in such a way. People get panicky because of the series of "end of the world" events. However, these actions are not justifiable at all. I am 100% asian but I get why foreigners especially the Americans run away when they see Asian people in fear that that Asian is a carrier. However, I believe that caution should not only be applied to Asians. Run away from people in general because at this point, no matter what the race, any person could be a carrier.
It's a devastating misfortune that the virus originated from China, but blaming them will not resolve the problem. "It couldve been stopped if the government didnt keep it as a secret", well yeah thats a fact. Everything that will be made know will generally be stopped from happening. But IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING!! So just start from there and draw some solutions. Ugh in other words, stop yapping your mouth.
I also dislike the white mentality "the virus is not gonna stop me from going out and make the most out of my break" (there's a video interview to back this up). It's stupid to think that they blame China for spreading the virus, but they themselves are POSSIBLY exponentially spreading the virus and even go out to clubs and beaches to party. Idiots

African American,
Most people in tendency of fear, act out of place, so I see why there been a huge increase of crimes against asians of all kind, but it's definitely not justified. Just because your scared doesn't mean jack shit , it's a virus, attacking someone isn't gonna stop it or help it disappear, and the person making a effort to go outside just to attack someone is the most retarded thing I heard of.

there has not been a large inc, in hate crimes against Asain people That is like saying there has been a large inc. in hate crimes in China against people who are form where the outbreak started.or since the Ebola out break all black people where hated. If u have proof show it

This a quite a idiotic statement. All you have to do is search up the keywords "asian" and "coronavirus" and tens if not hundreds of article and new reports will show up talking about this topic. There are also constant uploads of videos of Asian Americans getting harrassed in their every day life since the coronavirus outbreak on social media.

Everyone should educate themselves FIRST before making such statements like asking for proof.
Ever since Covid 19 has hit the USA in January of 2020, there has been a major pandemic. As a result, there has been a huge increase of crimes against all Asian people regardless if they were Chinese or not.
My question is: do you find these actions are justifiable or understandable in anyway? Whats your opinion or perspective of it all? Anonymous replies are allowed, I will also like anyone who answers this question to include their race or ethnicity.
As an asian person myself, I feel bias. There's never a time or moment that makes it okay for a person to harm another, regardless of the situation. Just because we're Asian, doesn't mean we took part in the making of this virus. We are Americans too, we know just as much as everyone else does and are just as scared. However again, I am Asian so I am bias.
I just wanted to know the thoughts of EVERYONE. Thank you!
