Sun is the man, moom is the woman, and star is the children. The profecy says that the third star(child) of the imperial family will bring glory upom the empire

The sun represents the king, the moon the queen, and stars the princes/princesses. When they showed that family tree thing, it’s shows moons, suns, and stars representing how there was always 2 offsprings. And our mc broke that by becoming the 3 offspring said to bring glory,

sun is first (the emperor) and the moon is second (the empress since she is the second to emperor in the country) the star is the third one or the third child a prince or a princess but there was never a third child before so she is the first and she has 2 older sibling

first, there is a sun (emperor) and moon (empress) then they have an offspring of two (stars) but then the other one/ sibling become an emperor so thus now symbolizes as sun-- then married to empress (moon) and give an offspring of two stars and one become an emperor (sun) and so on.

They were showing the symbols so we could tell the difference.
After that, when the current king and queen (sun and moon) had a child it was the star. After that, the star would marry (a sun or moon depending if they were Male or female) to produce another star. And the cycle continues.

In summary, each star married and never produces a third star themselves. So those stars would marry and so on.

I had some fun and made a random family tree as an example:
    ♤ = king
    ♡ = queen
☆ = child I put f or m for if they were born female or male

    ♤+♡= f☆
    F☆+♤=m☆
M☆+♡= m☆ & f☆ (this means they had 2 children, so two stars)
    M☆+♡= m☆
    F☆+♤=f☆ & m☆

And so on. No third star was born between a single member of royalty and their partner. They only had two at most.
