I just noticed this chapter, but if you look real close, there is a paper like texture over all of the images, very subtle, but definitely is the key piece that gives it it's lifelikeness, a big of texture for everything so that it's not a flat color
Oh? I noticed it since the first page of potn The art style, the panel of colors added with the filter is what gives this uniqueness and "ancien painting aspect" to this BL. It suits very much to this historical story. The texture is a filter, that we can find in digital art.
