I’ve read so many comments saying that Mafuyu doesn’t really love Ueno, but he really does. Love isn’t something instant, this story is almost like harsh reality. Very close to it actually. Love takes time and steady building, in addition Mafuyu’s first love is Yuki and your first love is always your strongest. Their history isn’t something that can be thrown away by BL magic and plot devices.

You have to understand how heart wrenching it must be to have your first love, the other half of your heart, the missing piece of the puzzle just be ripped out of your life. Especially after making a comment like that. They’ve known each other since they were children and Yuki was the first person to understand Mafuyu and his unspoken emotions. This is a once in a lifetime bond, but you never have just one soulmate. It’s all a matter of meeting.

I strongly believe that Mafuyu truly does love Ueno, but he needs time to heal. He hasn’t even forgiven himself and is just finally finding himself. Cut the guy some slack, everyone makes mistakes when they’re healing. That doesn’t mean their feelings aren’t real. I doubt that you’d be able to heal quickly after falling in love again finally after the death of such a dearly beloved.

I do truly feel bad that Ueno is silently competing with someone he will never meet. Although, I feel, it’ll only make him stronger, I feel that he’ll be influenced by the intensity of Yuki and fight, fight to be better than him in the end. In addition, I would like to think it’ll strengthen their relationship because he’ll be Mafuyu’s anchor. Something he needed to save him from an abyss where he was unable to feel. Glue, tape, a donation or even a transplant whatever you want to call it. You don’t fix a broken soul overnight. He’s the light that was needed to light a fire. In that way I know for sure he can make Mafuyu love him just as he had loved Yuki and possibly even more than it.

The only thing I have left to say is that this is reality, no quick magic nor plot device can make love easier. So we should enjoy this story to the best of our abilities and not doubt each persons love towards the other. But, nonetheless we are titled to our own opinions and I am just another voice on the internet. Thank you for taking the time to read if you did :)

Agreed, I think the realism of this Manga is one of its main attractions,as you can relate to the feelings and struggles the characters are experiencing.

Its true that life isn't all roses and flowers and lovey dovey. It's amazing just how well thought out the characters are and the different types of relationships that are being portrayed that many people experience. Which is the reason why people connect on such a deep level with the characters because the readers are able to see themselves through these characters.

The frustration, sadness and happiness the characters go through and the way its portrayed. It's just amazing. Regardless whether this is BL or not. The plot and writing in itself is just great
