I think they made one of the ex-maids that was nice to her(she gave her good/nice food) trap her and attempt to set her on fire with the same fire from the sacrifice. Her magic was blocked(?). Anyway she was saved and the ex-maid had a change of heart and tried to protect her. I think she was threaten, because you can see she's feeling guilty
