I think that's the point but honestly I feel the same way, like found the raws from a freaking 17 year old on Tumblr and see a lot of kids in general acting like liking this is the cool thing to do, like no stahp. It's good because it's a unique kind of twisted the author is very creative (and I gotta wonder where she got her inspiration like who hurt you? Jk) But dear god I hope the kids reading this don't think this is actually a good kind of relationship, something they should seek out, it just really bothers me because I'm friends with a young impressionable girl who is also into twisted crap to get back at her mom (long story) who would seriously dive head first into this crap and live it to add to the ways she messes with her parents. I feel like a lot of kids reading this are probably the same. If you take it and leave it as fantasy cool fine I don't care but you stupid freaking kids I swear to god I will hunt you down and smother you with ice cream or something idk.

I started reading this when I was 15 , I'm 20 now. I feel normal. Only been here for Azusa and want his happiness XD. And April Chan ( the girl who translates) is really kind don't worry about it. In Japan this manga is in the 16 plus section of the store. Which is so weird but apparently there's even weirder shit so...

That's comforting to hear thank you for letting me know Although holy heck 16+ with worse stuff, maybe Japanese kids are just mentally stable af XD When I was young I just read fluff stories and when I accidentally came across my first psychological trauma that was an incest story with the brother sleeping around with older guys (including his step fathers) because his brother couldn't love him in an incestuous way I was emotionally wrecked But I guess there must be a lot of kids better at handling it than I did and hopefully making good life choices. I'm also definitely not saying this as in "How dare this manga exist, it should be taken off the shelves!" Just kids, be smart yo. >:o

I agree! I would also read fluff but then I read one of ogawas stories... And my poor heart was like noup , goodbye. Then I found Caste heaven and I loveeeeed Azusa. I just want him to be happy... I know what happens in chapter 29 though....and it's been killing me for two months already. I hate when she goes on a hiatus. XD after Caste heaven ends I'm going back to fluff.

Although I would normally agree and sway away from the same toxic and redundant trope but this isn't really the same thing. This manga is intentionally painted out to be dark and psychological and it is not trying to romanticize rape or toxic and abusive relationships like the same old redundant themes you see in yaoi. Believe me I know how awful fujoshis can get with them. Their relationship is intentionally built to be codependence. Azusa is not being tricked by Karino. He knows what hes getting into. He's not helplessly falling in love with his 'captor.' They're both using each other. Although I believe they also need each other. Karino needs Azusa to feel emotion and Azusa needs Karino to humble himself although they both did not realize they would fall deep for each other. I think this is just the beginning and from the way things are turning out(from chap 29) I think the author is doing a fantastic job and hopefully we'll see Karino respond efficiently and reveal some care for Azusa.

I just wanna make it imperative to remember that this story is meant to be dark and psychologically fucked up--hell, it was suppose to turn out way worse than it is now if not for its popularity. In my opinion this story provides a lot more depth and charismatic and authentic characters than other K webtoons and yaoi manga. It's not suppose to romanticize rape or toxicity. So if you feel uncomfortable, frustrated, angry, or upset reading this, congrats, the author has done her job.

The manga is already classified as dark and you’re telling us as if we don’t know. You’re much more of an idiot than you think. We read and watch much more dark themes than this story

I would only classify it as rape as the initial scene Karino fucked Azusa but the rest was more so blackmail and yes the lines are blurred between consent and hard seduction but its not really romanticized rape as other comics. Hell, there were even a couple times where Azusa asked for it. Also it is not a mind break either, simply because Azusa is strong enough to stand Karino's antics. I don't know if my words will get to you but I suggest you give it another read.

It still looks like rape to me, their whole relationship is centered around "I like to fuck you because you say no to me", he wants someone to resist him and who he can't "break", the last few chapters (primarily the sex scene in ch. 23) aren't as bad, a relationship is forming, but there has yet to be any consensual sex. No one should really be debating this is rape, it is a messed up manga, most of the reason is they all live fucked up lives that fucks with them socially and sexually, the issue is stupid kids who think doing this irl is a good idea shouldn't be reading it.

Yeahhh I think a lot of people are going to be super defensive towards your comment in general because it is the hot thing right now to just attack rape period in yaoi because it's the violence in video games of manga lmao so everyone is going to assume you're on that bandwagon.
