Feel free to disagree or agree with what I said. Or correct me on some facts about the plot since it been 4 years since I last read it. But do so respectfully :)) I only remember the plot vaguely and I’m not in the mood to read it from the top. I’m seeing commenters who are rude to one another and I won’t tolerate that on my own comment. Thanks!
I see you your point but I think Mizuki is actually a trans. But since Mizuki born as a boy she thought she have to be manly and stuff. And her family has exceptions from her too. But she never realized she is a girl because of her biologal gender. So when she becomes girl of course she is confused and want to be a boy again. Because suddenly her life changes. So in last chapters, she actually doesn't want to be boy but she feels like she have to be a boy. But when Takeru says if she is afraid becoming girl he will sport her, thats when she becomes sure.
The last chapter I remember reading is 88 or somewhere there, and it was uploaded way back in 2016. I knew then that I wanted this manga to end up as Mizuki wanting to stay as a guy and still pursue his relationship with his best friend. I partly wanted that because I’m a fujoshi but also because I just thought femininity isn’t something we should deny from males. Everyone can be masculine and feminine. I just wanted Mizuki to realize that he didn’t have to be a girl to want to be treated as such. Seeing how loved he was and how accepting people were of him when he “came out” as a girl, I think they would have eventually accepted if Mizuki wanted to stay as a guy but have feminine interests or wanted to be more in tune with his feminine side without actually living as a female. It’s sad that Mizuki thought being a girly guy was something to be ashamed of... I like girly guys tbh. Or men that aren’t really your poster boy for masculinity. This is even before I liked and discovered yaoi.
What I wish for as an ending and what worked for this manga are different. Now that I’m typing this I do realize that Mizuki went through a journey of self discovery and realized that him being feminine isn’t really something to be ashamed of. I’m glad he accepted his feminine side but I was hoping he accepted it while still being a guy? Because it’s not like the manga started as Mizuki wanting to be a girl so his feminine looks would be more accepted (this is from what I remember, I may be wrong. Just pls correct me). (I keep erasing what I type. I’ll cut it here since I doubt anyone would understand my ramblings or even read far enough)
I just wish people around him weren’t assholes that thought a guy with a girly face is girly and that a guy should be masculine. Which actually mirrors the society we currently have. I’m glad it’s gotten better over the years.
Okay cut.
