yep. even as a mere aunt i feel panic when i cant soothe a baby. i have many nieces and nephews. it must be worse for a father.
I bet the reason he is shown to be on his phone so much is to learn how to take care and hold babies!

this is what i think: he probably doesn't know how to hold a baby or how to act and console his son. he probably felt embarrassed and ashamed of this fact because he's supposed to be a parent. good for naoto for taking the initiative and have a talk with him.
