Do you have eyes? Are you able to follow an emotional train of thought? He was clearly excited about the kiss. The question just caught him off guard because people who are romantically involved don't usually ask, and sometimes its nice/cute to ask

i’m not saying he wasn’t excited? when did i say that. usually the director is very forceful with him WHICH IS TRUE. i’m just saying he doesn’t usually ask whether it’s okay! that’s the whole point. THEY ARENT IN A RELATIONSHIP. why do you have to get so defensive over it? i really like this couple and like that he’s changing. it’s just sad that he hasn’t asked before.

??? Your wording directly implies that the reason he got exited was because he asked for consent. I'm saying no, it was obvious it was because of the kiss about to happen. No they aren't "official", but due to their relationship (a romantic one) you don't usually ask if you can kiss someone you just do it.

The fact that yall really think he got excited because of what he said versus a kiss is so confusing to me I dont even know where to start. It's just... so obvious

maybe the way you interpret it is different from us. for me it’s pretty evident that he’s happy that the director asked whether he could kiss him. it’s as simple as that.

But see that's an unnecessary toxic interpretation. Also I wouldn't say that was something I interpreted but rather seeing the same reaction in the uke when there's a kiss right before he gets kissed, it follows a pattern the author created. Plus, its built on the experience of thousands of manga I've read. It's just a piece of the puzzle that fits perfectly. But hey, you can see it however you want.

He’s a man in his 30’s, not a 13 yr old girl. Lol

I think the whole plotline with Ms. Choi is about the importance of consent. Its very subversive of the typical forceful seme trope where they get away with acting like dicks because the uke likes them. Very me too era appropriate I think. Getting consent can be sexy. Its nice to know that your partner cares if you are comfortable with a situation. It can go a long way for building trust in a relationship. So pretty sure Suha was happy about both being asked and about having the kiss.

RIGHT!! i feel like it’s getting a little creepy now with the director acting as though they’re in a relationship when suha has CLEARLY not consented to it. and everyone defending the director says that suha was disappointed. but suha never actually said that out loud. only we as readers know it. meaning, the director had NO WAY of knowing whether suha liked it or not and continued anyway.
he went as far as to interrupt a conversation between suha and another person and proceeded to rape him as “punishment” (??) for having previous sexual relationships (??) or maybe he was so jealous (again, super toxic) that he proceeded to rape him. i don’t get why people don’t see this as unhealthy. this is LITERALLY the first time he asked for consent.

so....... men in their 30s can’t be happy? or in a toxic relationship? what’s your point here?

Honestly bro, I can't even with the people in this thread. The "vibe" in a book is just as important as the words being said and far more important than actions. Yet people seem completely incapable of reading a "mood". I've given up and suggest you do too.

He didn't rape suha in the office lmao. Have you never heard of rough sex? All suha could think was how he didn't want a toy and wanted it deeper and then the next morning he was thinking about how good the sex was and how he was disappointed in himself for getting sick and how he wanted to work out so he could have more sex with his boss. Are we reading the same manga? I mean that bit wasn't even up for interpretation. Suha legit said I need to work out more so I can have more sex right after that sex scene. Y'all crazy. And yeah the director did pry. Did you see suha complaining? No. That slutty mf got off on it all and that's on jesus. He's clearly a masochist and loves the treatment so y'all really must calm tf down.

if you really had given up, you wouldn’t have defended his actions while writing that comment. i don’t personally dislike the director. and i do think he’s changing for the better since he is now thinking of things like consent. but, you can’t defend his previous actions. Ms. Choi was correct and he is now rethinking how forceful he was.
Suha MAY have liked it, but he has never expressed that. only we as readers are aware of it. you talk of mood and tone, but Suha was frightened and cried when they had sex in his office. yes, he wanted to have sex but not in the office. it was a blatant disregard of what suha was feeling. the director also thinks of them as a couple, when suha clearly doesn’t. there is a tone, there is a mood- i agree. but there are many instances of it not being there as well.

It is so annoying when someone who has no experience has to give their opinion. Like when people without kids tell those with kids how THEY would do it. Same when someone’s never had a real relationship or sex. Why do people feel the need to do this?
