So I’m guessing when Ed got hurt Chang realized how important he was to him in you know... THAT WAY so he fooled his family so that Ed would always depend on him and couldn’t leave him. Instead of trying to make Es loving him in a healthy way, he wanted to make him his possession, but he also wanted to deny that he loved him.
