Your close!Jeanette is Anthy's cousin. Claude's brother had sex with Claude's fiancee which then had Jeanette in secret. Claude killed his brother for sleeping with his fiance. Later on in the original story Jeanette goes to Claude thinking shes his real daughter but Claude knows(because they never slept together) that shes not his child and raises her as his own despite that.
