He’s being nice because he does want something from Nakyum but he’s also trying to be genuinely nice but it isn’t coming out as genuine because he has ulterior motives. Honestly you're being too extreme and also undermining his position and the situation. If he wanted he could legit lock the guy up, there is no need to play such games. He does as he wishes whenever he wishes. Yes he is a villain and a shitty human being but it's not black and white. At this point we are getting hints that he is into the painter but doesn't realise it.
