    GIRL I FEEL U

I can't agree... At the beginning I was thinking the same way but the one that protect Kirara from others is Ken, the one that Kirara is loved by the most is Ken. I agree that he was behaving as an asshole at first but we understand that if he did all of that it was because he never thought that Kirara would ever love him back. Moreover he is a teenager, he hates his father for having left him, his brother and his mother for another man, I think it is not easy to accept that you are in love with a boy after that so he kept going with girls to bury his feelings but at the end he finally understood that he can't... In my opinion, if he kissed Krara without telling the truth it was because he was desperate. In this misunderstanding maybe he thought he could be a replacement of his brother for Kirara (I don't know I you knew but Ken reallly thought that Kirara was in love with his Kyoichi).

It's my opinion and you have yours I completely respect that. I'm only telling you that it is too bad because this is a really sweet, angsty, slow-burnish feel good love story and If you can see actually see how Ken suffered maybe you will come to like him

Seconded this. I mean if you wanna talk about unbearable, how dense and naive the uke is are also the reason why the misunderstanding dragged on.

Totally agree with. People are validating his behavior because his feelings weren’t immediately reciprocated. But thing is Ken is and asshole to everyone except Kirara, and that’s even barely the case. I understand internalized homophobia, I understand unrequited love. Ken’s angst is a pity party of unresolved emotions at the expense of others not privy to his inner turmoil. There’s protecting Kirara and there’s treating him like an emotional punching bag and that be excused because you can’t deal with your own emotions. There’s getting over a crush and sleeping around and giving false hope to your romantic partners you’ve half assed dated. There’s looking out for your friend and purposely intervening at opportunities for him pursue outside relationships out of jealousy and pettiness. There’s just too much about Ken’s personality that is just readily excused because he’s a boy in a BL. If he was a real person and was behaving this way towards a childhood friend whether they were female or male anyone would say he’s toxic and remove yourself from their relationship until he figured his own shit out. The average teenage boy even of the queer variety isn’t this much of a dick just because he’s a teenager.

    THE TRUTH HAS BEEN SAID

Like it’s so bizarre how everything can be excused with the tsundere personality trope and this isn’t just limited to BL. I truly hate the trope. Who In their right mind wants to be romantically involved with someone who consistently treats them like shit? I can completely understand being shy or just not being emotionally savvy, but the point of the trope is tonexaggerated these negative points and reframe them as either comedic or characterization. Being an asshole isn’t a personality. Being gay isn’t a personality. Being unapologetically mean with a smidgen of sincerity is not a personality. We see this type of excuse in so much media and literature and does it accuse the progression of relationship devolving into often emotional and physical abusive environments. The “he pulls your pigtails cause he likes you” or “ boys will be boys” needs to stop we only just internalize and then we get people like Ken who can do no wrong because no on ever confronted him about healthy emotional outlets.

Notice the author hasn’t once had Ken apologize to Kirara for his behavior towards him all these years. The miscommunication has been cleared up but doesn’t change how Ken treated Kirara. kirara just accepts everything as it is with no complaint.
