But... It's kinda unfair...

I... I know it's 'historical accurate' that the princess had no chance but... my sense for justice just hates the fact that she had to die because of her stupid father (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ It's just so... unfair I can't stand it ╥﹏╥

At first I hoped that they would take her in and she could live as a servant or so... I mean, she could have done something meaningful, even if would have been something small. But now there is just another life wasted ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Yeah, that sucked. I was hoping Paulina would have like a moment or something where she spared her life.

I totally get your feelings but i absolutely loved this particular choice of the author.
It perfectly portrays the brilliance and determination of the emperor .
If the princess lived and procreated then that would be the seed of future rebellions. to take back the land her father's followers and allies would rally behind her and her royal blood regardless of what she wanted .
It's sad but the reality is that her death was the kinder thing
to do. The potential rebellion could take thousands of lives .

did she really die tho I feel like the end of the chapter left it rather ambiguous with the king calling her kind when he had just finished telling the princess to off herself

Form the authors point of view I would have written it that was too, to be honest ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
As a reader it felt so unfair even if it makes sense ( ̄∇ ̄")
