If it goes any other way, which it prolly will, I would feel pretty disappointed if the author rewards chase's schemes. Playing with someone and manipulating them is not the right way to start a relationship and regardless Joel has a lot of things he needs to come to terms with before hes in the right state of mind to have a healthy relationship with someone. I'm not against them as a couple I just dont rly care. Joel amd chase are messy rn, neither one in a particularly good place but that's just my opinion
So honestly, I dont rly care but my half assed opinion is I hope joel and chase talk it out and its bittersweet but they go their separate ways for a few years. Joel can focus on Jesse and learn to accept his and his son's sexualities and Chase can grow up and realize all the childish, underhanded schemes and petty manipulations will not get you love much less someone's heart. They both need to mature. It would be a trainwreck if they dated right now, Joel going in and out of denial trampling over Chase's naive and immature feelings. Then they can pine for each other and maybe 2-3 years later when chase is in college they run into each other at a park or something and itll be sweet and profound. Their eyes will meet, time will stop, the wind will blow through their hair and their hearts will go doki doki and then they can be honest and straightforward with each other, both comfortable in their feelings and identities. Their relationship will be solid and strong for it. That is what I think should be the right way to wrap this side couple up.
